Confirmed donations to local rescue partners
The Vidal & Co. rescue initiative
Buy a home.
Save a dog.
When you buy a home with Vidal & Co., we can cover the full standard adoption fee for an approved rescue animal. And with every Vidal & Co. listing that closes, both of our Ottawa rescue partners receive direct support.
A buyer benefit with purpose—and no pressure to adopt.

This week's featured dog
Meet Fig.

Fig is an approximately five-year-old, 45-pound spayed female available through Bullies in Need. She is social with other dogs, curious about the world and looking for a home that can give her both companionship and thoughtful structure.

- She has done well with the dogs she has met.
- Cats
- Her experience with cats is currently unknown.
- Children
- Yes, with careful door and gate management to prevent an escape.

Bullies in Need controls Fig's availability, applications, matching, home requirements and every adoption decision. Details can change; her official rescue profile is always the current source.

Adoption fees funded through the program
Our first program-supported adoption has not happened yet—but we're ready when the right client, dog and lifelong match come together. We'll celebrate that milestone here when everyone involved is comfortable sharing it.
Confirmed Vidal & Co. program impact · Updated as each milestone happensThe represented-buyer benefit
Your next home could help welcome theirs.
Eligible buyers receive the program’s biggest direct benefit: Vidal & Co. pays the full standard adoption fee after independent rescue approval. Choosing not to adopt is always respected—and still helps both rescues.
01
Eligible Vidal & Co. buyers
A new home can welcome a new family member.
Buyers represented by Vidal & Co. can have the full standard adoption fee paid directly to an approved partner rescue. Our sellers qualify when they also purchase their next home with us.
02
Every Vidal & Co. listing
This home helps local dogs.
When a residential property listed by Vidal & Co. successfully closes, we donate $300—$150 to Bullies in Need and $150 to Ottawa Dog Rescue.
How the buyer benefit works
A thoughtful process, led by the rescue.
Finding the right match matters more than moving quickly. The rescue controls every screening and adoption decision.

Who the adoption benefit is for.
Clear eligibility protects clients, rescues and everyone involved in a real estate transaction.

This includes an existing Vidal & Co. seller who later completes their next purchase with Vidal & Co.
Buyers of a Vidal & Co.-listed property.
Purchasing one of our listings through another representative or without Vidal & Co. buyer representation does not create eligibility.
Another rescue or animal species.
Prior written approval is required. If approved, Vidal & Co.’s contribution is limited to a maximum adoption fee of $700.

Look for the rider
A small sign with a very real purpose.
Our dog rider marks a Vidal & Co. listing that will support both rescue partners when it closes. Sharing the home’s story can widen its reach—but the donation is never conditional on promotion, referrals or leads.

Current adoptable dogs, directly from each rescue.
Availability changes quickly, so each rescue’s own adoptable-dogs page is always the most current source. Explore the dogs, then apply directly through the rescue when the timing and match feel right.

Bullies in Need
A foster-based Ontario dog rescue helping dogs in need find safe, suitable and loving homes across the Ottawa area.

Ottawa Dog Rescue
An Ottawa-based, foster-supported organization dedicated to helping abandoned and abused dogs move toward permanent homes.
Dog profiles and availability are maintained by the rescues and may change without notice. Vidal & Co. does not control listings, applications or adoption decisions. Donations and foster applications are completed directly with each rescue through its official website.
Adoption, never obligation
The right home matters more than the benefit.
Dogs are part of the Vidal & Co. story, but this program is never about adding pressure to a home purchase. Clients should adopt only when the timing, match and lifelong responsibilities are right. Declining the benefit still creates a meaningful rescue donation.

The rescue decides.
Approval is never guaranteed and Vidal & Co. does not influence it.
The fee is paid directly.
No cash equivalent or reimbursement is provided to the client.
Ongoing care is yours.
Food, supplies, training, licensing and veterinary care remain the adopter’s responsibility.
No adoption? Dogs still benefit.
The automatic $300 donation supports both designated rescue partners.
Frequently asked questions
Good questions deserve clear answers.
For a situation not covered here, email our program team at dogs@vidalco.ca before beginning an application.
01Who is eligible for the adoption-fee benefit?+
The benefit is available to buyers represented by Vidal & Co. who complete a home purchase with us. A Vidal & Co. seller also becomes eligible if they go on to purchase their next home with Vidal & Co. Simply purchasing one of our listings through another representative does not create eligibility.
02How much of the adoption fee does Vidal & Co. cover?+
For an approved adoption through one of our partner rescues, Vidal & Co. pays the rescue’s full standard adoption fee directly. Alternative rescues or animal species may be considered with prior written approval, to a maximum of $700.
03How long do I have to apply?+
Your adoption application must be submitted within six months of your real estate closing date. The rescue’s screening and matching process may continue beyond that date.
04What happens if I decide not to adopt?+
There is never any pressure to adopt. If you decline the benefit, are not approved by a rescue, or do not submit an application within six months, Vidal & Co. automatically donates $300—$150 to each partner rescue.
05Does buying a Vidal & Co.-listed home make me eligible?+
Not by itself. The adoption benefit is connected to being represented as a buyer by Vidal & Co., not to purchasing a property that Vidal & Co. has listed.
06Does Vidal & Co. decide whether I can adopt?+
No. Each rescue independently manages its applications, references, home visits, matching and approval decisions. Vidal & Co. cannot influence or guarantee an adoption.
07What does the fee not cover?+
Unless specifically approved in writing, the program does not cover ongoing veterinary care, food, supplies, training, insurance, transportation or municipal licensing. Those responsibilities remain with the adopter.
08How does every Vidal & Co. listing help?+
When a residential property listed by Vidal & Co. successfully closes, we donate $300 in total—$150 to Bullies in Need and $150 to Ottawa Dog Rescue. The donation is not dependent on referrals or promotion by either rescue.
